Experts in Russian and German languages will meet in Saint Petersburg on September, 19

Russian-German pedagogical dialogue will be held in September, 19-20 in SPbU 

Research seminar “Russian-German pedagogical dialogue” is held in September, 19-20, 2012 within the framework of the “Year of Germany in Russia” and “Year of Russia in Germany” at the Philological Faculty of Saint Petersburg State University. 

This event offers a gathering place for professional communication between experts in Russian and German language as well as a ground for demonstration of innovations in teaching Russian and German as foreign languages. 

Professional competence of language instructor, teaching Russian-speaking immigrants in Germany, identity of Germans in Russia, Russian as a language of profession, integration of academic programs into preparation for testing in TRKI system, language training in Russia, contemporary methods of teaching German, Russian in German expatriate community – these questions form the agenda of the seminar. New tasks of teaching foreign languages associated with the challenges of geopolitical, cultural and social factors of today will also be a subject for review. 

Delegates from German and Russian top universities will take part in this event. Among them are Humboldt University of Berlin, University of Hamburg, University of Magdeburg, University of Greifswald, University of Freiburg, Ruhr University Bochum, Saint Petersburg State University, The Herzen State Pedagogical University. Most important issues of teaching foreign languages at schools will be covered by representatives of school “Mildred Harnack” (Berlin), “Azbuka” (Hamburg), German school in Saint Petersburg, German gymnasium №75 (Saint Petersburg). Spokesmen from German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Goethe-Institut inSaint Petersburgwill also report at the seminar. 

The first day of the seminar will be devoted to teaching Russian as a foreign language in Germany and Russia, while the second day will be dedicated to teaching Russian citizens German. Program of each day will include teleconference bridges with language centers in Russia and Germany. The event is supported by Russkiy Mir Foundation and German Academic Exchange Service.
