Where will I live and study?

Russian Language and Culture Institute is situated in Vassilievsky Island. History of Vassilievsky Island starts together with history of Saint Petersburg. And it was Vassilievsky Island where was built Menshikov Palace — the first stone building in the city. Later there were built Twelve Collegia building, Academy of Arts, Kunstkamera.

Point of Vassilievsky Island in XIX became one of the most important architecture ensembles of the city. In the end of 18 — beginning of 19 centuries Vassilievski Island was center of education and science because main universities and academies were placed there: Academy of Sciences, Library of Academy of Sciences, Academy of Arts, Mining Institute, Naval School, Saint Petersburg University.

Building where Russian Language and Culture Institute is placed now counts its history from 18 century. It is a part of Neva river embankments ensemble.

Location of the Institute is very good for those who plan sightseeing. Hermitage is very close and city Center is also very easy to get from Institute. You can even walk there.

Near Institute there are many kinds of public transport.

Student Dormitories are situated in Korablestroiteley street and Kapitanskaya street. It is new part of Vassilievski Island. Buildings of the dormitories are just near the Gulf of Finland. You can get from dormitory to Institute by public transport — bus, mini-bus, trolleybus. It will take you about 30-40 minutes.

In this area is well-developed infrastructure — there are many shops, banks, caffees and bars, different kinds of transport.
